Hanan was able to get urgently needed medical equipment and spare parts, used to sustain maternal and child health service delivery, through Gaza's strictly controlled borders.

Hanan and its partners mobilized training capacity and other available resources, to equip lay and professional health providers to respond to medical emergencies arising in their communities in response to the worsening humanitarian situation in 2006. At the time, many hospitals faced increased service demands on already under-resourced facilities. To respond Hanan undertook significant procurement of medical equipment and spare parts, urgently needed by hospitals to maintain essential maternal and child health service delivery.

Overall, Hanan met emergency procurement needs for 11 hospitals, 300 providers from West Bank and Gaza communities received a qualification to provide pre-hospital emergency medical services, and Hanan distributed 100 emergency delivery kits through its national network of clinic and hospital partners.
